Guys, I've just downloaded eMule, and I've shared around 2.5-3.0 Gigs of my hard disk space, but it still shows upload: 0.0, and download: 0.0. Also, whenever I'm trying to connect to a server it says I'm currently 'blacklisted'.

How can that be, when I've just started using it? I can't search out files, let alone download if I can't connect to a server. Any ideas?[/i]

1) Is it the official version of eMule? Modded versions could be blacklisted, especially if they promise to speed up the download in some way - i.e. by bypassing the queues.

2) If it's the official eMule client, you could simply try connecting to another server (as long as you haven't tried them all yet...). If none of them works, check if eMule isn't blocked by your firewall.

3) Have you really uploaded these 3 gigabytes of data or just put them into your shared folder? If you are unable to connect to a server, chances are that you haven't uploaded anything yet.

- Yes, it is the official version of eMule, 047a.

- Yes, I've tried connecting to another server, but even when the connection is successful, I lie on queue for like, seven hours and nothing happens. And that for 1.2MB file, too.

- No, I haven't UPLOADED 3 gigs, I've just put them on share. But like I said it says upload:0 and download:0. I've got no friggin' idea why.

How many sources are available for the file you're trying to download? If there are very few users sharing the file, it might take even more than seven hours to start downloading it. Remember that eMule has an uploader rewarding system - the better your UL/DL ratio is, the faster you advance in queues.

If you have a router, try unblocking the eMule ports...

My Computer started shutting down by itself. I've reformatted the disk drives and thrown eMule out. Literally.

Hummmm, I've had a simular problem, PC started rebooting whenever I ran Adware. T'was due to Malware, I still have it and intend to get rid of it once I reformat and re-install Windows. Not sure about eMule but I do know Kazaa comes with ad-ware, maybe eMule does too?

PS, sorry if above's post was edited in some way. I clicked "Edit" instead of "Quote" XD My bad.

Unlike the so-called 'official' eDonkey2000 client, eMule doesn't come with any adware/spyware/malware/etc bundled.

guys P2P programs like kazaa, DC++ and many alike download certain packages with the file downloading, trojans! especially trojan.downloaders and backdoors. i recommend use programs like winmx (without p2p protocol, which can be slow but safer alot)
