Er... yes, well, hello
I can see that lots of Claw-fans have been joining to the forum recently. This topic is intended to introduce ouselves, and it may help us to know each other better. As I can see, we're here from every single part of the world, with different languages and culture, so there are lots of interesting people at the same place...
So I'd be inetersted in...
1) Who are you and where are you from?
2) How old are you?
3) Which languages can you speak?
4) When all this Claw-thing began, and why do you like it?
5) What do you spend your spare time with, what else do you like, your hobbies, etc...
6) Anything else you'd like to mention
Since I've opened this topic, I think I should begin...
My name is Anita, and I'm from Hungary, I live here in a city called Szeged. I'm 16 years old (I was born in March). I've been learning English for 9 years, and I'm in a bilingual class from last year on. I can also speak a little French.
Claw began to me at 4-5 years ago. I got the demo version that I immediately liked Then, I bought the copy of the entire version in a fair, for about 250 HUF (at about 1 American dollar ). I simply fell in love with the game, I especially like the cutscenes. Beautiful quality, and the story is very interesting. I think WaltDisney Pictures or something like that should buy the rights from Monolith, make some improvements, and should release Claw as a cartoon movie. I'm sure it would make a huge profit...
In the game, my favourite level is Level 6 (El Puerto Del Lobo) and my favourite boss is Katherine (miaow...).
I spend my freetime reading books, writing stories (mainly fanfics), and playing computer games (+surfung on the net). I am also a big fan of Harry Potter, Romeo and Juliet, and animals (cats are my favourites). And I love musicals (Romeo&Juliet, Jekyll&Hyde, Elisabeth, Rudolf, etc). I can't stop listening to them.
I have a beautiful Persian cat, Cilike, a bad, naughty thing but her eyes are adoreable And she's got soft fur, and she purrs so nicely... (ok, I've finsihed ).
I am about 154 cms tall, and I'm 53 kilos... I have long, wavy brown hair and grey eyes. I'm always cheerful, I'm smiling a lot, but i'm very lazy, too. I have to wear galsses but I prefer to wear my contact lenses.
Okay I thinks that's FAR enough. I'm waiting for your introductuons! |

1) I live in eastern Poland, in a town named Siedlce, which has about 80.000 inhabitants.
2) 17 years old. I was born on April 21st, 1989.
3) Apart from Polish I can speak English (I've been learning for 6 years) and a little bit of German.
4) I got the game bundled with a special Chrismas issue of PC World in 1999 (haven't I said it before?). Once I installed the game, I started cheating and passed the first seven levels. I couldn't beat Gabriel in level 8 though and gave up soon. In 2000, during the holidays, I took the Claw CD to my cousins. Together we began playing the game again. Having beaten Gabriel, we completed the levels 9, 10 and 11 rather easily (keep in mind that we still cheated like crazy :P). Aquatis was another boss that we struggled to beat. Eventually, I managed to jump into the hole behind him (with the help of MPJORDAN and MPVADER of course ;)) and got the job done with 5 sticks of the dynamite. Given the fact we used cheats, the last two levels weren't much of a challenge.
Soon I started playing the game again, this time without cheats. I still remember the excitement of completing level 12, beating Red Tail, and finally Omar. My score was about 10 milion points at that time. That wasn't enough for me and I started passing the game again and again, each time with a better score. In the meantime, I downloaded the editor from the official website. My internet connection was utter crap by that time, I remember the download lasted something like an hour :) At first I was completely confused. Despite PC World provided some instructions (they even claimed WapWorld was on the CD when in fact it wasn't) I couldn't make head or tail of it. Eventually, I figured how the 'Go to start position' option works, what the editing modes are etc. and began messing up with the editor. My first level was a modification of The Shipyards. I also built a few levels from scratch, but they were short and crappy. In November 2000 I began building a level 13 based level, which eventually became Treasure Island in August 2002. In the meantime, I discovered Finn's website and downloaded all the custom levels, walkthroughs, midis and some other stuff from there.
In mid-2002 I posted my first message on the official Claw forum and soon became a full-time member. In a few months I created another custom level (Under the Sea). I wasn't very satisfied with it though and began to work on a revised version. Between mid-2003 and mid-2004 I had only limited internet access and didn't really show up on the forum (I only kept popping in from time to time). Once I got a proper internet connection in 2004 I returned and planned to post regularly. However, between August 2004 and February 2005 I was unable to access the forum and I found it fucked up when it started working again. Thankfully, Gunner's forum was set up soon after and since then I'm always around. In February 2006 I finished the revised version of Under the Sea and exactly five months later I released another custom level, The Treason of Katherine.
Now, here's a list of my favourites:
- favourite level: The Cliffs
- favourite custom level: One Man Assault 2
- favourite enemies: Bear Sailors
- favourite boss: Katherine
- favourite cutscene: Reunion
5) I like playing football (soccer) with my friends, as well as watching matches on TV. I'm also a Lord of the Rings fan. Like most people, I also enjoy playing computer games (Need For Speed, No One Lives Forever, Freelancer, Pro Evolution Soccer, Jedi Knight etc.), surfing the net and watching movies. |

OK, it's my turn
1) I'm from Poland and live in Białystok (the biggest city in north-east Poland, about 300'000 people). My name is Paul (in polish - Paweł).
2) I'm almost 16 years old xD (I was born on 9th December 1990).
3) Of course my mother tongue - polish I've been learning english for a few years, but I'm a lazy learner, so my English isn't really good I undertand almost everything on this forum, though. I also HAVE German at my school, but I completly don't care it, so I can only say what is my name and where I live I hate this language.
4) I started playing Claw with my cousin, who got it on Christamas. It was Polish wersion of the game, so I think it was 4-5 years ago. I liked it and wanted to own it, so I borrowed Claw, but got to give it back in few weeks. I decided to buy it, but couldn't find it in Polish shops with computer games. And one day, my cousin called me and said: "I saw Captain Claw in that shop" and he told me where it was. I went there with my parents and bought it. I was really happy. I started playing Claw, without cheats, because I didn't hear anything about it. I passed three levels and get lost in 4th, between SP1 and SP2, so my cousin (Michael) came to help me. I remember that he stuck in 8th level and gave up, so i wanted to be first on Pirates cove, and i made it. I didn't have any serious problems with passing level 11 (but with 9 and 10 yaes ) I passed 12th level in one day, but couldn't beat Aquatis, I didn't know, how. Michael was in the caverns, he wasn't be able to jump to the last ladder in this level xD Oh, and I almost forgot, in lvl 12th, my friend came to me to play claw, and discovered "loading game"! I didn't know that, I always played levels from the start. (unbelievable, isn't it?) Me and Michal went for our holidays together and all days we spent on talking about claw, what can we see on the last level, how would look the Ceremony and others. Michael said, that he has an idea to bveat aquatis. When I was back from vacations, I ran Claw and beat aquatis, and passed throught 13th level and the 14th too. I knew how to beat Omar, (i supposed and i was right) but i had some problems. And then Michael said something about cheats, so I tried it and defeated Omar. Anyway, withjout cheats I've never made it Of course you can think I was passing the game in a few weeks, but it took me about year. Now, with cheats, the game has no sense, I don't even ned to defeat Lord Omar, it's all michale's fault I installed win 2000 and I couldn't play claw.
When I was 14, i've learned how to make webpages, and decided to devote Claw. I coppied the official claw's homepage layot and started my site (july 2004, without installed claw ). I was excited but I lost my enthusiasm very quickly. THe site wasn't updated for a six months, and one day I entered the Guest Book and read: "Nice site, that's a pity, you don't update it". After that I stareted hard work, added new sections and wrote my first post on the offical forum, it was on march 2005. I asked how to make screenshots, and Teophil anserwed. I was really glad to see him, becacause i saw his name on the Highscores. In may 2005 I rebuilt my site, changing the layout and my site became more popular. Before it, I was writing posts on the official claw forum, in the meantime, came across DzjeeAr's and Grey Cats sites. I saw they're building levels so I wanted too. My first level which saw the daylight was Dark Prison, crappy level, but I was motivated by Grey Cats opinion, which I got via email. What was next, you all know. Official forum was spammed by mouth and others so I didn't appear there. One day heard about GCF and registered here. Next day started polish Claw forum. In March 2006 I wrote the e-mail to Grey Cat, where I offered him a collaborations with our sites, and he agreed. From that time our sites are merged.
Now, some my favourites (like Teophil made ):
- favourite level: The Caverns
- favourite cutom level: Claw Be Jammed!
- favourite boss: Redtail
- favourite enemies: Mercats, Peg Legs
- favourite cutscene: The tavern
5) I love football, computer [playing games (captain Claw, NFS, GTA, Stronghold Crusader), building websites etc.], Harry Potter, physics (mainly astronomy) and more.
6) I'm 178 cms, my weigth isn't known (about 65 kilos ) I've got short, blond hair, blue eyes. I'm such lazy boy, I hate learning (i do well at school, though) I hate cleaning my room, washing up etc
BTW, I think it's my longest post on this forum so far Forgive me all mistakes, I know my English isn't as good as it should be.... _________________ In malayalam - Ngan ninne snaehikkunnu ;*

1. I am a girl from Denmark and my nickname is my initials.
2. I'm 16 years old (I was born on March 19th 1990)
3. I speak Danish, and I have been learning English for nine years, French for five, and German for 2 (but I've been watching a lot of German Tv since I was small)
4. To me it began in summer 1999 where my brother after I had returned from some holidays, told me about a game we had got from our grandfather, and I have no idea where he got it from or if we were only meant to borrow it (I doubt it, because nobody has ever comed and claimed it back, and I'd feel very sorry for that person who ever does that)
So we played the first 2 or 3 levels and then got a long break where I didn't know where the game was or if it was all right at all. But we got to play it again, and one day where my brother was visiting a friend I played up to level 8, and there I met an exciting guy called Gabriel who wouldn't let me continue, until I found out how to do that by looking at the official site, where I also got surprised how popular Claw actually is.
I like it because I think it has a very good balance between action and adventure, it's not hard to navigate in game once you've learned how to do it, the music is nearly perfect and so are the movies/cutscenes.
5 I do karate, read and play other games (Syberia 1/2 and Sims 2)
6 I think monks are cool and very exciting. Usually if I have seen a monk (doesn't matter where) I dream about it. I love chocolate and raisins, I hate sports, maths and Wednesdays. My favourite colour is the darkest kind of brown, and the first 3 years Claw was mentioned as the 'Cat-pirate' in our home.. _________________ PROKOFIEV IS HOT! <3 |

3) Dutch, English
4) Go the game illegally on some CD with a few other games, I like the graphics, the style, the entire ambience, and of course, Wapworld
5) *CENCORED*, Level Design, and hope to make my profession out of it.
6) Going with the trent Teo started:
- favourite level: The Township, The Shipyards, The Cliifs, and Tiger Island
- favourite custom level: I'll get back to you guys on this...
- favourite enemies: PegLegs
- favourite boss: Marrow
- favourite cutscene: *still needs to see*

Hi, my name's Francesco, and I'm from Italy. I'm a 16 year-old, and I study to the Classic Liceaum, so, I haven't much free time during this schoolish time... I can speak English (better writing) and a bit of French.
My Claw adventure started much but much much time ago, when I saw this game to a my friend's house (I think it was in 1998)...it was amazing for me, so cool, so colored and fun! Then, much much time later, I think in 2003, I got my own Claw CD, and I sterted to play it. To be sincere, I've never finished all the game , but a day I'll! Then, when I got the DLS connection, some year later, (I think in 2004) I saw on the Claw forum that there was (and still there is) a patch which ability the TCP/IP Connection...later in 2005 I told to a my friend who is a Claw fan too, about this patch. Finally a day, we understood how to play the game on-line; it was so fun, in fact we did many marathons reporting the results on our forums, but then we deleted them, because only we two were playing it...But now, I hope that Claw can LIVE MORE with the multiplayer game. Maybe a day we could start to make our teams for the game, who knows...
But anyway, returning to what I was explaining, my hobbies are football, gym etc. I'm tall 1.81, maybe more (I mean 1 metre and 81-or more- centimetres).
Oh ah, I use the IM program MSN / Windows Live Messenger, so, if someone has or gets it, can contact me at my email address speaking instantly
I think that's all, and I hope we all will play to Claw on-line. |

I do taekwondo. What belt are you at? The guy who instructs me is a 10th dan black belt. To achieve a 10th dan, you must have at least 60 years of experience from the point when you received your 1st dan. Bit of trivia for you.

LMAO, I know what that must have been like. I used to play the arcade game Dig Dug on the SNES, and would spend hours trying to complete each level. Then one day, completely by accident, I discovered you could shoot. (Strangely, that took a lot of the fun out of playing).

I've got the 2nd purple belt (4th grade from black)
I think we in Shotokan Karate only have one 10th Dan, in the world, a japanese guy.. Your trainer sounds kind of tough if he has been training for 60 years
The highest I have met, I think was a 6th Dan.
Actually today, one of the other girls in my class, walked very slowly to her seat, grap one or two pillows. Almost every place in her body hurt, because she had had some kind of special training of Taekwondo during the weekend, because she, if her trainers agree, is going to have the black belt in November. _________________ PROKOFIEV IS HOT! <3 |

I don't have any experience in karate so I can't make comparisons. I've heard that karate is more focused on hand-fighting, where as taekwondo is more about kicking. Is this correct?

No, i wasn't. Polish news don't say about it, they're not interested, I think. Sometimes they say that spaceship went to the space or 1st space tourist came back from there (talking about Japanese woman ). Of course i watch programs on Discovery Science. Anyway I dont use telescope or something like this, because I don't have it _________________ In malayalam - Ngan ninne snaehikkunnu ;*

If you live in a city it probably wouldn't matter, as you couldn't see anything because of all the light pollution. _________________ http://claw.ben-ts.net -- The Belated Claw Fansite

Yes, it's true. In winter, when days are short, the sky is orange-purple (in the afternoons and evenings) because of it. Sometimes I can't see stars Of course i don't have a best sight, but i don't need to wear glasses _________________ In malayalam - Ngan ninne snaehikkunnu ;*
